A man suspected of making criminal threats died after a Burbank police officer shot him with a stun gun outside of a home where another armed man barricaded himself during a standoff. Police responded to the suburban neighborhood Wednesday evening following reports that someone had been making threats to another person.
A man in his fifties confronted the officers outside the house and one officer discharged his stun gun to subdue him, which caused the man to collapse. After that another man came to the door armed with a handgun and threatened police according to officers on the scene. The officer on the screen immediately called for backup and took cover behind their vehicle. They managed to pull the man that collapsed and he was treated by paramedics on the scene. The man was pronounced dead at the scene due to the stun gun shot. Police were in a standoff with the armed man for a few hours, but he eventually surrendered peacefully.
